Abstract An efficient, iron‐catalyzed, three‐component synthesis of arylglycines starting from readily available amides, glyoxalates, and arenes or heteroarenes has been developed. This method provides a versatile, atom‐economic, and cost‐effective route to arylglycines with water as the only byproduct. With carbamates as the amide component, various synthetically useful N ‐protected arylglycine derivatives could be prepared.
