Abstract The morphology in the solid state of ABA triblock copolymers consisting of poly(γ‐benzyl L ‐glutamate) (A) and polystyrene (B) was investigated. Transmission electron microscopic measurements (TEM) revealed that the morphology varied with the length of the polypeptide block. Small‐angle X‐ray scattering (SAXS) data were in accordance with these TEM‐results. Wide‐angle X‐ray (WAXS) data showed that the distance between the α‐helices in the polypeptide lamellae changed with the composition of the block copolymers.
