Beck,1in 1935, published a book on this subject and he traced the use of bee sting and bee venom from antiquity up to the present time. Bee-keepers were the first to use bee sting in the treatment of rheumatic conditions and it is only within the past 50 years that physicians have adopted it as a therapeutic measure.
