A series of carbon supported electrocatalysts, Pt/C, , Pt‐Ru/C, and , were prepared by freeze drying and tested as Teflon‐bonded electrodes in 0.5M in a stream of impure hydrogen containing 100 ppm of CO at 80°C. The first three catalysts were gradually poisoned and the performance was less than 100 mA/cm2 at 200 mV vs. SHE. However, there was no change in the performance of the Teflon‐bonded electrode at 220 mA/cm2 over a test period of 6 h.
