During 24 months of evaluation the tentative standard method was found to be inefficient—and sometimes ineffective—for concentrating low levels of laboratory‐grown and naturally occurring sewage‐extracted enteric viruses from 380‐L (100‐gal) volumes of experimentally contaminated tap water.
