On the seven species of fishes of the family Sillaginidae from Indian waters

Abstract

The taxonomic status of the seven species of the family Sillaginidae has been given in brief. Four species of the family have been recorded for the first time from the Indian waters. The external and meristic characters of all the seven species have been given. Also the luminescent bacteria have been recorded for the first time associated with sillaginid fishes
