Microscopic examination showed hyaline thrombi in terminal arterioles and capillaries. In 1936 Baehr et al.2reported four cases. They believed that the thrombi were composed of platelets. Since then more than 40 case reports have appeared in the literature. An excellent review of the literature has recently been presented by Barondess.3The syndrome has been clearly characterized by the clinical triad of hemolytic anemia,...Bibliography1.
