Urban congestion caused by incidents

Abstract

Congestion in urban areas has now become a major cause for concern for drivers and traffic authorities. This paper addresses the problem of urban congestion, and particularly congestion caused by incidents: how it spreads through the road network; and possible remedial strategies.
