The Potential for Low-Cost Electricity from Concentrating Solar Power Systems

Abstract

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Concern over the possibility of global climate change as a result of anthropogenic greenhouse gas buildup in the atmosphere is resulting in increased interest in renewable energy technologies. The World Bank recently sponsored a study to determine whether solar thermal power plants can achieve cost parity with conventional power plants. The paper reviews the conclusions of that study.</div></div>
