However, chronic thrombosis of the main pulmonary artery or of the right or left main branches is, in contrast, a rare finding and reported cases are limited in number. As one descends the pulmonary arterial tree, thrombosis becomes more common, depending upon the diligence with which prosection is done. Certainly lobular thrombosis is seen more frequently than lobar and, in turn, arteriolar thrombosis is far more common than either.A total of 11,511 consecutive...Bibliography1.
