Knowledge of the possibility of these unusual lymphatic drainage patterns and SN sites should help to ensure the accuracy and completeness of SN identification. Preoperative lymphoscintigraphy to definitively locate SNs is recommended for every patient undergoing an SN biopsy procedure.
