Experiments were conduded on farmer's field during kharif and winter season of 1995, 1996 and 1997 to study the response of recommended fertilizer, sulphur and bio-fertilizers application on the yield of soybean-mustard cropping system on Cultivator's Field, Recommended fertilizer (R.F.) significantly increased grain yield of soybean and mustard by 15 and 20% of respectively over the farmer's level of fertilizer. Addition of sulphur had a marked influence and augmented the seed yield by 11.8 and 16% of soybean and mustard respectively over R.F. alone. Beneficial effect of seed inoculation with phosphate solubiliZing bacteria and Rhizobium (in case of soybean) and Azotobacter (in case of mustard) were observed and these biofertilizers on an average enhanced the yield by 8.6 and 11.4% of soybean and mustard respectively over R.F. alone.
