This article describes the process of CIGSSe module production as applied by Johanna Solar Technology in Brandenburg, Germany. Since start of production in late 2008 the stability as well as the efficiency of the solar modules has improved remarkably to a current record aperture efficiency of 11.6%. Recently the black solar modules have been TÜV certified according to IEC 61646 and IEC 61730. For appealing architectural and buildingintegrated PV applications prototypes of CIGSSe colour solar modules are presented for the first time showing brilliant red, green and blue colours. The colour modules will be available in the same power classes as the black modules
