Abstract

Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) is an uncommon condition that is important because of its catastrophic consequences for the patient and its potential for medico-legal actions against medical staff. The need for prompt intervention makes research into the subject practically and ethically challenging. This article aims to provide an overview of CES with illustrations of its common causes and mimics.
