Abstract

The synthesis and assembly of mouse IgA has been examined in the Adj-PC 6A cell line and in the MOPC 209B and MOPC 315 tumors. The pathway of assembly of the IgA monomer in these tumors appears to be H + H → H 2 ; H 2 + L + L → H 2 L 2 ; H 2 L 2 + H 2 L 2 → (H 2 L 2 ) n . Final assembly of the monomers of 6A and 315 into IgA polymers occurs close to the time of secretion.
