Abstract

Ix a previous paper on the Odgenesis of I'atclZcL (1l)t the relation of the Golgi Apparatus arid Mitocliondria to the formation of yolk was described, and it was mentioned that during that process there was an extrusion of " solid " iiucleolar material from the nucleus into the cytoplasm. The present paper is devoted to an account of the beliaviour of the nucleolus and the changes in the chromophility of the cytoplasm during oogenesis. This research, as tlie former, was carried out in the Zoological Laboratories of University College, London, and my thanks are due to Dr. J.
