The increase of urban traffic confronts individuals \nand transport authorities with new challenges regarding traffic \nmanagement, personal mobility, sustainability, or economic \nefficiency. Existing resources cannot be arbitrarily extended \nwithout negative effects on pollution, costs, or quality of living \nand have to be used more efficiently. The SUNSET \n(Sustainable Social Network Services for Transport) project \naims to improve this situation on a city-wide level by \nmotivating users on a personal level to change their mobility \nbehavior. To make personal mobility more sustainable, \nflexible, and rewarding for users, SUNSET combines mobility \ndata and patterns from mobile sensing, a dynamic incentive \nsystem, and feedback from social networks. This paper \ndescribes how the tripzoom application implements this \nconceptual approach, discusses critical issues and outlines the \nforthcoming living lab evaluation in several European cities.
