Allopurinol attenuates left ventricular dysfunction in rats with early stages of streptozotocin‐induced diabetes

Abstract

Allopurinol can attenuate hyperglycemia-induced oxidative stress, ameliorate cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and fibrosis and subsequently prevent left ventricular dysfunction in early diabetes.
