MDO test suite at NASA Langley Research Center

Abstract

NASA Langley Research Center supports a wide variety of multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) research and requires a set of standard MDO test problems for evaluating and comparing the products of this research. This paper proposes a World-Wide-Web based test suite for collecting, distributing and maintaining the standard test problems. A prototype suite of 10 problems, including written problem descriptions, benchmark solution methods, sample input and output files, and source code is available from the Langley internet site. Here, design of the MDO test suite is discussed; typical test problems are described; and sample web pages are illustrated.
