Middle Triassic to Early Jurassic Radiolarians from the Inuyama Area, Central Japan

Abstract

Four successive radiolarian assemblages of Middle Triassic to Early Jurassic age are established, namely Triassocampe deweveri Assemblage, Triassocampe nova Assemblage, Canoptum triassicum Assemblage, and Parahsuum simplum Assemblage in ascending order, based on the reexamination of radiolarians (Y_AO et al., 1980a) from a continuous sequence of chert in the Inuyama area, Central Japan. In addition, one new genus Parahsuum and three nominal species of the assemblages are described.
