The paper reflects the team process of an international interdisciplinary research team from the perspective of recent developments in systemic approaches in the German speaking world. From this basis the reflection focuses on the differences that influenced the team process, the blind spot the team developed, and the functions of that blind spot. If team processes are to enable synergy of cultural and scientific differences, blind spots have to be reduced. Practical suggestions are provided as to how team processes could be supported by the individual competences of the team members and especially by structured reflections loops.
