There is little information available on the magnitude of the increase in color and organic matter caused by impoundment. This article presents information from practical experience in the catchment area of Trehorningen, Baerum, Norway. Gjessing previously described a downstream decrease in color in the water‐course of Trehorningen, and an increase in the dammed‐up Lake Aurevann. This article gives further details concerning the work.
