Family formation and dissolution: trends and attitudes among the Scottish population

Abstract

This Research Finding draws together existing Scottish data on trends in family formation and dissolution. This includes data
\non marriage and divorce from the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS), Scottish censuses and the Scottish Social
\nAttitudes (SSA) survey. This work has been undertaken as part of the government’s commitment to evidence-based policy
\nmaking in advance of the proposed Family Law reform in Scotland.
