In 1926 Moise1 related these lesions to intracranial infection when he reported a case of staphylococcal meningitis in which the portal of entry was a congenital dermal sinus in the sacral region. His patient, an 18-year-old male, recovered after lumbar laminectomy with drainage. Several reports followed of meningitis secondary to similar lesions along the spinal axis.2-4In 1949 Mount4reported two cases of sinuses in the occipital area...Bibliography1.
