Abstract

Abstract Antibody specific for measles virus can redistribute (cap) measles virus antigens on infected cells in culture. Capping of measles virus antigens at the cell surface requires active cell metabolism and multivalent antibody. Capping was inhibited with oligomycin D, vinblastine sulfate, colchicine, and cytochalasin B, suggesting that ATP production and functioning microfilaments and microtubles are involved in the capping process.
