Influence of Magnesium Ions on Porosity of the <i>Bacillus megaterium</i> Cell Wall and Membrane

Abstract

The presence of magnesium chloride (0.01 M) caused a relatively small but significant reduction in the equivalent porosity of the protoplast membrane, but not in that of the cell wall, in intact Bacillus megaterium cells.
