Abstract

Abstract On the basis of the experimental data on the number of propagation centers, activation energy, and rate constants of propagation and transfer reactions, a kinetic scheme for propagation and chain transfer reactions in the polymerization of olefins in the presence of Ziegler‐Natta catalysts is considered. The main features of this scheme are: (a) monometallic composition of propagation centers; (b) two‐stage mechanism of the propagation reaction: (c) the reversible adsorption of an organoaluminium cocatalyst on the titanium of the propagation center resulting in its temporary deactivation and chain transfer with an organoaluminium compound.
