Female and Male Perspectives on Growing Up Irish in Edna O'Brien, John McGahern and Brian Moore

Abstract

even mention Edna 0 'Brien, with Jeffares also omitting McGahem altogether and Deane failing to refer to The Emperor ofIce-Cream.In their Short History ofAnglo-Irish Literature (1982), Roger McHugh and Maurice Hannon do mention each of these three novelists, but they do not discuss any of 0' Brien's novels, nor do they cite The EmperorojIce-Cream.Neither the limitations ofspace nor the date ofpublication provide an adequate excuse
