Abstract

A novice echocardiographer using PE can acquire interpretable images in the majority of intubated patients. Novice and expert echocardiographers can reasonably estimate ejection fraction using PE. PE may allow novice echocardiographers to rapidly assess cardiac function in intubated patients.
