Summary In the high-leukemia AKR and C58 strains of mice administration of urethan slightly accelerated the onset of leukemia but did not significantly increase the already high incidence of leukemia. Urethan induced the formation of hemangiomas of the liver, intestine, and pancreas in both strains of mice. The C58 strain appeared more susceptible, with an incidence of 51 per cent. No hemangiomas were found in the untreated controls. Hemangiomas occurred much more frequently among nonleukemic mice than among leukemic mice in the urethan-treated groups.
