B hepatitis B virus (HBV) is mainly transmitted via parenteral routes, hemodialysis (HD) patients seem to be at considerable risk of acquiring HBV infection. Despite control and preventive measures, viral hepatitis B still seems to be a major concern in medical centers with HD facilities. By adherence to hemodialysis-specific infectioncontrol practices and to hepatitis B vaccination, HBV infection has been controlled in some dialysis centers (1, 2).
