Abstract

This chapter describes how the dynamic SWACROP model was used in the water-limited experiments of the case study. All the processes used (soil water dynamics and crop growth) in the model are described. A detailed release of full calibration and validation approaches per individual process is given. This approach allows a critical assessment of the processes and sheds light on drawbacks and shortcomings in the model. The model performed well in most aspects with shortcomings in crop development.
