Abscess of the nasal septum is an important consideration in the differential diagnosis of conditions such as nasal obstruction, hematoma of the nasal septum, nose pain, and swollen nasal turbinates. Surgical drainage and antibiotic coverage should be initiated as soon as the diagnosis of abscess of the nasal septum is made to prevent severe deformities. Intracranial complications can become apparent even after appropriate therapy has been initiated.
