Abstract

Over the past ten years, a variety of polymer nanocomposites have progressively revealed themselves to offer significant improvements and advantages in electrical, thermal, mechanical, and physical performance, over existing polymers or micron-filled polymers, as prospective advanced materials for hv insulation and other power equipment applications. CIGRE WG D1.24 (Potential of Polymer Nanocomposites as Electrical Insulation) has been dealing with polymer nanocomposites as advanced dielectric and insulating materials since 2007.
