Abdominal accommodation induced by meal ingestion: differential responses to gastric and colonic volume loads

Abstract

Meal ingestion induces a metered and region-specific response of the abdominal walls to accommodate the volume load. Abnormal abdominal accommodation could be involved in postprandial bloating.
