Abstract

Abstract: This paper presents a new Mixed Reality system for controlling the real object’s color appearance with a simple projection method. This system illuminates the real object with the color light of four test patterns in advance and then, it estimates what color should be applied for color correction. This approach reconstructs the object’s color into the other one without defusing the painterly brushwork. It is possible to visualize the restoration for real color-deteriorated heritage arts and to provide a new fun for amateur painter as like a famous one. In this paper, we explain the experimental result for changing the color appearance of real heritages, painting and bronze bell-shaped vessel.
