A modal analysis of a two-area system with significant wind power penetration

Abstract

This paper presents the results of an investigation aimed at ascertaining the effect that a sizeable wind farm exerts on the oscillation modes of a two-area, four-generator power system. The modal characteristics of the system, when a wind farm replaces one of the generators, are analyzed.
