Profiling PhD Dissertation Bibliographies:

Abstract

Political science doctoral dissertation bibliographies were examined for types of materials used in advanced graduate research. Following patterns established in other social science disciplines, political science dissertations use materials indicative of their disciplinary interest and are journal and serials dependent. It is suggested that collection development can benefit from a limited citation analysis of doctoral dissertation research.
