Abstract

A model-independent formulation of WIMP-nucleon scattering is used to define the experiments needed to interpret the physics of dark matter. The graphic shows the relative event rate for six different isotopes for the six different nuclear responses considered in the paper. One can see that several isotopes will be needed to distinguish between different interaction types after a discovery is made.
