Summary 1.A high degree of antigenicity is retained in rabies virus inactivated by high energy electrons. 2.The vaccines thus prepared are bacteriologically sterile, superior to phenolized vaccines and compare well with vaccines prepared by ultraviolet inactivation. 3.A fourfold increase in the irradiation dose does not lower the potency of the vaccine appreciably. 4.The advantages of high energy electrons for the preparation of viral vaccines are discussed.
