Abstract Based on 13 C‐NMR. and other physico‐chemical evidence, the structure of 11α, 11′α‐dihydroxychaetocin ( 3 ) has been assigned to a new antibacterial and antimitotic metabolite, isolated from the fungus Verticillium tenerum .
