Abstract The states of ethyl benzoate (EB) and TiCl 4 in the primary types of MgCl 2 ‐supported catalysts were studied by thermogravimetry/differential thermal analysis (TG‐DTA) in combination with other methods. The results obtained by all experiments indicate that TiCl 4 and EB in the MgCl 2 ‐supported high‐yield catalysts interact only with MgCl 2 , leaving no vacant sites on TiCl 4 .
