Polyimides and Other High‐Temperature Polymers

Abstract

The heterocyclic and aromatic polymers were introduced during the 1960s in order to match the thermal stability requirements of the aerospace industry. This chapter deals with only one type of fully cyclized aromatic heterocyclic polymers: the high-molecular-weight linear polymer with a special emphasis on the synthesis and structure-property relationships for specific applications.
