Measurements of resolved Zeeman patterns in the of P CrB show that H , the mean surface magnetic field, varies approximately 180 out of phase with the longitudinal component of the field H . The maximum observed H is about 5700 gauss, and the total amplitude of the variation is 800 gauss. The observations are compatible with a field geometry in which one magnetic pole is stronger than the other.
