MRSI measurements are more accurate than perfusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging or conventional contrast enhancement in differentiating oligodendroglial tumor grade. In these inherently vascular tumors, metabolic measurements of mitosis and necrosis may be better than measures of neovascularity in presurgical grading.
