Seaweed recipes and other practical uses of Seaweeds

Abstract

Seaweeds (a plant group of the
\nsea) in botanical terms "Algae" form
\nan important food item in many
\ncountries of the East as well as West.
\nIn China, marine algae bears the name
\nsea-vegetable and it is not uncommon
\nfor coastal inhabitants of Japan,
\nMalaya, China and Phillippines to be
\nseen on the seashore during low tide
\ncollecting these sea-vegetables. Korea
\nand Japan are the two ceuntries
\nwhere algae are farmed but only
\nin Japan extensive seaweed cultivation
\nis done.
