Abstract

Cargo volume at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Twin Ports has grown rapidly in recent years, impacting port capacity and leading to traffic congestion resulting from trucks dropping off or picking up containers at the terminals. This report examines truck traffic at a specific terminal in the twin ports. Focus is on acquiring statistics on truck arrivals, as well as truck waiting and flows at the terminal. The tracking of truck traffic is accomplished through the use of digital photographing technology.
