The data book primarily addresses respiration and circulation in humans and other vertebrates, with additional coverage of invertebrate and plant systems. The book compiles 402 scientists’ contributions into 232 tables, charts, and appendices covering eleven categories of respiratory and circulatory principles, data, and systems. Author: (Author).
Abstract : Sections on invertebrate respiration and circulation and plant respiration and fluid movement are covered in data book, but for the most part it is concerned with man and other vertebrates. Basic physical and chemical data, general principles governing behavior of gases and flow in vessels, and the exchange system at the cellular level are presented in tables, charts and equations. The data book contains contributions by 402 research scientists and is compiled in 232 tables, graphs, and two appendices. The contents are reported in eleven categories: (1) General principles; (2) Basic physical and chemical data; (3) Thorax and ventilation; (4) Airway and gas movement; (5) Blood gases; (6) Heart and pumping action; (7) Vascular system and blood distribution; (8) capillaries and the exchange system; (9) Invertebrate respiration; (10) invertebrate circulation; and (11) Plant respiration and fluid movement.
