This paper summarizes the state of the art of representation of power system loads for dynamic performance analysis purposes. It includes definition of terminology, discussion of the importance of load modeling, important considerations for different types of loads and different types of analyses. Typical load model data and methods for acquiring data are reviewed. A list of recent references is included.
