Iodopovidone pleurodesis: experience of a tertiary hospital in Kolkata.

Abstract

Recurrent pleural effusion or pneumothorax due to any cause may be managed effectively and safely by chemical pleurodesis with povidone iodine. It may be considered as the agent of choice to achieve pleurodesis, especially in resource constrained countries like India, as it is inexpensive and easily available.
